Giclee limited edition prints
Giclee high quality limited edition print images are produced from digital scans and printed
with archival quality inks onto substrates of various types -- typically, high quality watercolor
papers and canvas.  The fine art printmaking process uses minute droplets of archival ink to
create prints that cannot be duplicated by other printing techniques.  Because there is no
visible dot screen pattern the resulting image has all of the subtle tonalities of the original art --
and results in the exceptional museum quality prints.

Giclee has become
the choice for professional artists wanting to produce their artwork in
limited quantities.  Giclee prints have much higher archival properties than traditional
lithography prints. Giclee, translated from the French is a "spraying", or "squirting", of ink.  It
is also often referred to as "Iris" printing since many of the high quality ink jet printers are
manufactured by the Iris Graphics company in Massachussets.

Many museums now include Iris Giclee prints in their collections.  Some of these museums
include The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum New York, Los Angeles County
Museum, Museum of Modern Art New York, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Renowned Giclee artists include Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, David Hockney and Robert
Rauschenberg.
