Paintings and limited edition prints by award-winning
international artist Anthony Whiting      904-234-1422

Anthony is especially well qualified to teach painting in view of his own extensive experience in painting, sketching, design and
teaching artwork to others.   He first taught private students in London, England while working as an architect in that city, later
in Connecticut where he taught Adult Education classes and now, in Jacksonville, FL.   One reason for his success in painting
instruction is having participated in past years as a student in numerous painting workshops with nationally known artists
including Barbara Nechis, Al Brouillette, Jean Dobie, Paul Leveille, Margaret Martin, Charles Sovek and Robert Burridge.

Students in acrylic painting include beginning students with little or no prior experience as well as intermediate students.
Anthony’s objectives in teaching are to ensure that each student gains substantial knowledge, skills, competency and
confidence in painting from each course.  This is achieved by:

  • Group instruction to the assembled class
  • Painting demonstrations in every class
  • One-on-one contact with each student
  • Discussion of painting issues as detailed in handouts distributed in all courses
  • Students' hands-on painting experience in class and with homework (optional)

Painting instruction is currently offered in five Jacksonville locations:

  • Fletcher High School Community Education, 700 Seagate Ave, Neptune Beach
  • Elemental Gallery, Jacksonville Landing, 2 Independence Dr, Suite 110
  • Michael’s Arts and Craft Store, 9041 Southside Blvd
  • Reddi-Arts, 1037 Hendricks Ave
  • Private classes at various locations
